Sustainability

Ok...So we're pretty obsessed with making super-soft sustainable clothes for kids that also make the world a better place! But how do we go about doing that?

We only use GOTS certified organic cotton...but what does that mean?

"Sustainable fashion, ethical clothing, fair production have many meanings. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) has a clearly defined set of criteria and is transparent.

GOTS is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain. GOTS certified final products may include fibre products, yarns, fabrics, clothes, home textiles, mattresses, personal hygiene products, as well as food contact textiles and more.

Having one common standard means textile processors and manufacturers can export their fabrics and garments with one organic certification that is accepted in all major markets. This transparency also gives consumers the power to choose truly organic products sourced from green supply chains" -Global-standard.org

This is why all of our organic cotton is GOTS certified, this ensures a responsible process right through the supply chain from seed to product.

Why our clothing doesn't cost the Earth

"Organic cotton also avoids forced or child labour, looks after the environment through sustainable farming techniques and protects the rights of those who produce it. As a result, organic cotton is almost always more expensive" -Cariki.co.uk

Organic cotton has always come at a higher price tag, but to us it has been a small price to pay to ensure responsible practices are carried out throughout the supply chain.

One of the main reasons we also choose to use only GOTS certified organic cotton is due to the traceability benefits. Without this traceability, we would have no way of knowing for sure where the cotton has come from. If cotton has no traceability, then there is no guarantee of fair practices in the supply chain and there is no guarantee that it is actually organic.

We take full responsibility for our fabric and that means we have hand selected the factories we use. We visit them and take time to select the right quality fabric for little bambino's skin.
